The project includes activities in the form of intensive seminars and similar activities including conferences, forums, in order to train members of the academic community on innovation and entrepreneurship.

The training sessions will last 20 hours in sections of a maximum of 20 participants. The Project estimates that it will fulfill four sets of seminars in specific cycles (2 months) during the duration of the Project.

The seminars will provide participants with the following:

  • Necessary (general and specialized) knowledge that allow the business to continuously take initiatives
  • Familiarity with the business culture and modern decision-making tools
  • Substantial contact with businesses of the agri-food sector.

The choice of small groups (up to 20 people) was made so that participants will better identify and deal with the main challenges (intellectual and industrial property, patent exploitation, establishment and legal forms of business, finance, etc.).

In addition to the seminars, participants will have the opportunity to visit businesses of the agri-food sector to investigate how businesses sign inter-sector agreements and exploit research results. Specific objectives of the visits of action are:

  • Informing participants closely on how business deal with technology development challenges. Further, there will be contacts-discussions with entrepreneurs (especially self-made entrepreneurs of small and medium-sized enterprises) that will complement the rest of entrepreneurship education.
  • Investigation of the activity of Research & Development departments of companies and further investigation on whether there are needs that could be met by the AUA researchers.
  • Boosting relations between AUA staff and the business community for the cultivation of links between the University and the agri-food sector.
